On Saturday, the French Ligue 1 side Lens defeated their rivals Angers 2-0 at Stade Louis II. The match was a tight affair with both teams creating numerous chances but failing to score in the first half.

However, in the second half, Lens came alive and took control of the game. In the 54th minute, they were awarded a penalty after Angers' defender had handled the ball in the box. Lens' forward, Openda, stepped up to take the penalty and calmly slotted it into the bottom left corner of the net.

The goal gave Lens a much-needed lead and they didn't look back from there. They continued to create chances and eventually doubled their lead in the 79th minute through another excellent performance by Fofana. The Senegalese forward found space on the right wing and crossed the ball for Openda who headed home unchallenged.

Lens' victory was their fifth win in their last six matches and they moved up to fourth place in the table. Angers, on the other hand, remain in eighth place despite their defeat. The result was a reminder that Lens is a force to be reckoned with in the league and they will be looking to continue their good form in their upcoming fixtures.
