Marseille FC has announced the signing of winger Thiago Alcântara on loan from Manchester United, with the midfielder committing to the club until June 2024.

The move comes after a successful stint at Old Trafford where he made over 150 appearances in all competitions.

Thiago is set to become the first French international to sign a professional contract abroad since 2019, when Paris Saint-Germain signed defender Kamil Glik.

The 27-year-old is known for his strong work rate and ability to link up playmakers, but also possesses excellent finishing skills and the ability to create chances himself.

He will be looking to add more experience to his squad and help the team achieve its ambitions under new manager José Mourinho.
